A wooded ridge that once bordered our property was a source of inspiration for 18 years. Seeing it change with the seasons was always like rereading a favorite chapter from childhood exploration. I learned so much about backlighting and how to paint it by watching the sun come up every day just outside my studio. Nature never fails to instruct me.
